Hilbert’s Nullstellensatz for analytic trigonometric polynomials

This paper proves such a new Hilbert’s Nullstellensatz for analytic trigonometric polynomials that if ${\left\{f_j\right\}}_{j=1}^{n\ge 2}$ are analytic trigonometric polynomials without common zero in the finite complex plane $?$ then there are analytic trigonometric polynomials ${\left\{g_j\right\}}_{j=1}^{n\ge 2}$ obeying ${\sum }_{j=1}^{n\ge 2}{f}_j{g}_j=1$ in $?$, thereby not only strengthening Helmer’s Principal Ideal Theorem for entire functions, but also finding an intrinsic path from Hilbert’s Nullstellensatz for analytic polynomials to Pythagoras’ Identity on $?$.     

On pre-exit joint occupation times for spectrally negative Lévy processes

We adopt a new approach to find Laplace transforms of joint occupation times over disjoint intervals for spectrally negative Lévy processes. The Laplace transforms are expressed in terms of scale functions.     

Applications of ‐invariant distributions

In this sequel to the article 17 , a criterion for the regularity of fundamental solutions of differential operators with positive symbol is proved in analogy to Hörmander's criteria, see 9 , 12 . It implies that the temperate fundamental solution of the operator is not regular. Furthermore, a formula for the convolution of two ‐invariant distributions is presented, and, finally, L. Schwartz' question on the surjectivity of linear partial differential operators with constant coefficients on the space is completely answered in the case of ‐invariant differential operators.     

Pseudo‐differential operators in a Gelfand–Shilov setting

We introduce some general classes of pseudodifferential operators with symbols admitting exponential type growth at infinity and we prove mapping properties for these operators on Gelfand–Shilov spaces. Moreover, we deduce composition and certain invariance properties of these classes.     

Flag Hilbert schemes and moduli spaces of torsion plane sheaves

We find certain relations between flag Hilbert schemes of points on plane curves and moduli spaces of one-dimensional plane sheaves. We show that some of these moduli spaces are stably rational.     

A note on the convexity of ruin probabilities

Conditions for the convexity of compound geometric tails and compound geometric convolution tails are established. The results are then applied to analyze the convexity of the ruin probability and the Laplace transform of the time to ruin in the classical compound Poisson risk model with and without diffusion. An application to an optimization problem is given.     

A new method for exact solutions of variant types of time‐fractional Korteweg‐de Vries equations in shallow water waves

The current article devoted on the new method for finding the exact solutions of some time‐fractional Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) type equations appearing in shallow water waves. We employ the new method here for time‐fractional equations viz. time‐fractional KdV‐Burgers and KdV‐mKdV equations for finding the exact solutions. We use here the fractional complex transform accompanied by properties of local fractional calculus for reduction of fractional partial differential equations to ordinary differential equations. Asymptotic behavior of solutions to space‐time fractional diffusion‐reaction equations

This article discusses the analyticity and the long‐time asymptotic behavior of solutions to space‐time fractional diffusion‐reaction equations in . By a Laplace transform argument, we prove that the decay rate of the solution as t→∞ is dominated by the order of the time‐fractional derivative. We consider the decay rate also in a bounded domain. Calderón problem for connections

In this paper, we consider the problem of identifying a connection ? on a vector bundle up to gauge equivalence from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map of the connection Laplacian ?*? over conformally transversally anisotropic (CTA) manifolds. This was proved in [9 Dos Santos Ferreira, D., Kenig, C., Salo, M., Uhlmann, G. (2009). Limiting Carleman weights and anisotropic inverse problems. Invent. Math. 178:119–171.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]] for line bundles in the case of the transversal manifold being simple—we generalize this result to the case where the transversal manifold only has an injective ray transform. Moreover, the construction of suitable Gaussian beam solutions on vector bundles is given for the case of the connection Laplacian and a potential, following the works of [11 Dos Santos Ferreira, D., Kurylev, Y., Lassas, M., Salo, M. (2016). The Calderón problem in transversally anisotropic geometries. J. Eur. Math. Soc., 18:2579–2626.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]]. This in turn enables us to construct the Complex Geometrical Optics (CGO) solutions and prove our main uniqueness result. We also reduce the problem to a new non-abelian X-ray transform for the case of simple transversal manifolds and higher rank vector bundles. Finally, we prove the recovery of a flat connection in general from the DN map, up to gauge equivalence, using an argument relating the Cauchy data of the connection Laplacian and the holonomy.
